Soccer Game Preview: Franklin vs. Surry County

The Franklin Broncos will head out to face off against the Surry County Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Franklin is coming into the matchup fresh off a high-scoring shootout with Southampton that saw the pair combine for 13 shots on goal. The Broncos fell just short of the Indians by a score of 3-2 two weeks ago. The defeat continues a trend for Franklin in their meetings with Southampton: they've now lost seven in a row.

Benjamin Harrison and Osman Munoz scored both of Franklin's goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

Meanwhile, Surry County hadn't done well against Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Cougars narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Dragons 1-0. The win was a breath of fresh air for Surry County as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Surry County, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 3-5.
