Softball Recap: Red Bank Catholic's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Red Bank Catholic ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the St. John-Vianney Lancers, sneaking past 5-3. The win was familiar territory for the Caseys, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Lily Hagan spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brianna Santangelo, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two doubles. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mackenna Savage, who went 4-for-6 with one triple and one run.

Santangelo wasn't the only one making solid contact: Red Bank Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Red Bank Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for St. John-Vianney, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.
