Soccer Game Preview: Brevard vs. Pine Lake Prep

The Brevard Blue Devils are taking a road trip to challenge the Pine Lake Prep Pride at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Brevard comes in on four and Pine Lake Prep on 17.

Brevard is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They won by a goal and slipped past Hendersonville 3-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Pine Lake Prep kept a clean sheet against Patton on Monday. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 9-0 victory. Considering Pine Lake Prep have won 15 games by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Patton with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Sadie Peterson (5), Avery Garrett (2), Victoria Christiansen, and Bella Buckley.

Brevard pushed their record up to 17-3-1 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 58 goals over those 12 matchups. As for Pine Lake Prep, their win bumped their record up to 18-2.

Brevard might still be hurting after the 5-0 defeat they got from Pine Lake Prep when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
