Volleyball Recap: Ralston Comes Up Short

Ralston extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 29 on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-24. They lost 3-0 to the Beatrice Orangemen. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rams of the 3-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

As for Beatrice, their victory ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 7-17. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since October 24, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

Beatrice's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kara Schuster, who had seven digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Schuster a new career-high. Kiley Hatcliff was another key player, getting 15 assists and 14 aces.

Coming up, Ralston will take on Omaha Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Beatrice will be paying especially close attention to the Rams' contest: after the Rams face off against the Guardians, they'll take on Beatrice again at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
