Basketball Recap: West Carroll Comes Up Short

West Carroll was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a blow against the East Dubuque Warriors, falling 67-29. While losing is never fun, the Thunder can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 659th, while the Warriors are ranked 88th).

West Carroll's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for East Dubuque, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

West Carroll will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on East Dubuque at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for East Dubuque, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-49 loss against Pecatonica on the 16th.
