If the Community Christian Academy Eagles were feeling good off their 63-42 takedown of the First Academy Lions last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Community Christian Academy lost to St. Teresa's Catholic on the road by a decisive 49-35 margin on Tuesday. Community Christian Academy has struggled against St. Teresa's Catholic recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
St. Teresa's Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sermario MJ Wiggins led the charge by scoring 19 points. Dyland Rangel was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Community Christian Academy dropped their record down to 3-6 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.5 points per game. As for St. Teresa's Catholic, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-6.
Community Christian Academy will head out on the road to face off against CHESS Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Teresa's Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
