Recap: Syracuse Titans vs. Davis Darts
The Syracuse Titans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 64-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Davis. Syracuse has struggled against Davis recently, as their matchup on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Syracuse lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Joshua Godfrey, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds. Terik Hamblin was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Davis was led to victory by Ike Morgan and Coleman Atwater. Morgan scored 13 points along with three steals, while Atwater scored 16 points along with five rebounds. Atwater has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jt Turley, who scored 11 points.
Syracuse's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-9. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Davis, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Syracuse will square off against Fremont at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Fremont focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Friday. As for Davis, they will head out on the road to challenge Farmington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Farmington has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 214 points over their last three matches.
