Hawthorne couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were dealt a 47-0 loss at the hands of the Butler Bulldogs on Friday.
A big part of the victory came down to the chemistry between David Smith and his top target Pj Coffey. Smith threw for 116 yards and three touchdowns while Coffey gained 94 total yards and four touchdowns. That's the most rushing yards Coffey has posted since back in September of 2023.
Hawthorne will head out on the road to face off against Hasbrouck Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Butler, they will look to take advantage of their home-field for the first time this season as they take on Saddle Brook at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
