Basketball Recap: Dominic Goines Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Churchill

Franklin's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They took down the Churchill Chargers 52-35. This was a revenge game for the Patriots: when they faced off against the Chargers back in January, they had to take a 50-45 defeat.

Franklin got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Dominic Goines out in front who went 6-for-10 on his way to 22 points and five boards. Goines continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Kameron Webster was another key player, putting up 12 points and five rebounds.

Franklin's win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Churchill, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.

Coming up, Franklin will be playing at home against Stevenson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Franklin has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Churchill, they will venture away from home to challenge Dearborn at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dearborn will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Churchill surely won't give up without a fight.
