Basketball Recap: Darian Grieshop's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Jac-Cen-Del over South Dearborn

Jac-Cen-Del lost against South Dearborn back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Jac-Cen-Del Eagles lost 61-38 to the South Dearborn Knights. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Eagles have suffered against the Knights since December 1, 2017.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Darian Grieshop, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 12 points in addition to six steals and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Youngman, who posted ten points.

Scout Gray went supernova for South Dearborn, going 10 for 19 on his way to 23 points and five assists. The dominant performance gave Gray a new career-high in points. Tyler Christian was another key player, putting up seven points along with ten boards and three steals.

Jac-Cen-Del's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for South Dearborn, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Jac-Cen-Del didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-51 win against Rising Sun on the 7th. As for South Dearborn, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 61-48 loss against Jennings County on the 7th.
