Basketball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Veritas Collegiate Academy's 14th in Last 18 Outings

Veritas Collegiate Academy saw some tournament action on Saturday. They came out on top against the Living Water Christian Warriors by a score of 70-63. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 123rd in Virginia, while the Warriors are ranked 277th in North Carolina), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Marcqell Freeman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 10-for-15 en route to 27 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. He has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 14 times he's played. Aijan Skeete was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Veritas Collegiate Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January.

Veritas Collegiate Academy has been performing well recently as they've won 14 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-10 record this season. This is the second loss in a row for Living Water Christian and nudges their season record down to 16-11.
