Capuchino is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Woodside is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Mustangs will host the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Capuchino knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Woodside likes a good challenge.
If Capuchino beats Woodside with 11 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Mustangs blew past Carlmont 11-1 on Thursday. The contest marked the Mustangs' most dominant win of the season so far.
Lola Sierra was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Sierra was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Star Gutierrez was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Avery Motroni was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Capuchino was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .320 or higher in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Woodside took on Burlingame on Thursday. The Wildcats came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 9-5.
Like Capuchino, Woodside also got a great game from a two-way player: Hannah Walker. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Walker has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those stolen bases marked the first that she has snagged this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Elizabeth Severin, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Mo Overbey, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.
Woodside has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Capuchino, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
Everything went Capuchino's way against Woodside when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Capuchino made off with a 9-0 victory. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
