Football Recap: Monroe Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Monroe extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They were beaten by the Shorewood Stormrays 49-21. The Bearcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Stormrays apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Several Bearcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joshua Ward, who picked up 55 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

As for Shorewood, the win was the fourth in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record up to 3-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their offensive performance: the team's won by an average of 26 points thus far.

Finn Bachler went supernova, rushing for 76 yards and one TD on only seven carries, while also picking up 30 receiving yards and one score.

Monroe didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 42-21 loss against Everett on the 26th. As for Shorewood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 56-0 victory against Lynnwood on the 25th.
