Basketball Recap: Philadelphia Performing Arts Comes Up Short

Philadelphia Performing Arts was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 67-37 defeat at the hands of the Simon Gratz Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Knight can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 688th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 158th).

Simon Gratz's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nasir Mackely, who posted 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rakim Johnson, who earned 13 points.

Philadelphia Performing Arts' loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Simon Gratz, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

Philadelphia Performing Arts wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 44-42 victory against Central on the 16th. Simon Gratz has also already played their next matchup, a 62-47 win against John Bartram on the 16th.
