Baseball Recap: George Rogers Clark's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

George Rogers Clark had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Bourbon County Colonels by a score of 7-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cardinals also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Luke Fugate looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ben Fulks, who scored a run and stole four bases while going 2-for-2. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Kamden McAlpin was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

George Rogers Clark's record is now 12-7. As for Bourbon County, they dropped their record down to 1-10 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. George Rogers Clark will face off against Montgomery County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals are facing the Indians at the right time seeing as the Indians are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Bourbon County, they will challenge Grant County at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
