Basketball Game Preview: Grayson County Blue Devils vs. Bland County Bears

Grayson County and Bland County are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Grayson County Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Bland County Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Grayson County has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with three straight defeats, while Bland County will come in with three straight victories.

Last Tuesday, Grayson County took a blow against George Wythe, falling 67-27. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Maroons are ranked 33rd).

Meanwhile, Bland County beat Giles 57-48 on Wednesday.

Bland County's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Grayson County, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.

Grayson County suffered a grim 64-40 defeat to Bland County when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Grayson County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
