Decatur has gone 9-1 against Springtown recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Eagles will host the Porcupines at 6:00 p.m. Decatur is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.

Decatur had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but Eagle Mountain put an end to it on Friday. The Eagles fell 5-1 to the Knights. The Eagles' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Springtown entered their tilt with Castleberry on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 11-1 victory. The Porcupines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Reiss DeLaFuente, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and two doubles. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Ava Fernandez was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Springtown's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Decatur, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-6.

Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Decatur hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .397. However, it's not like Springtown struggles in that department as they've averaged .323. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Decatur was able to grind out a solid win over Springtown in their previous matchup back in March, winning 12-7. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Porcupines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
