Hopewell lost against North Catholic back in August of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Hopewell Vikings fell 55-43 to the North Catholic Trojans. The Vikings just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Despite the defeat, Hopewell saw an underclassman step up: freshman James Armstrong rushed for 240 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also threw for 240 yards and a touchdown. Those 240 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Armstrong. 148 of Armstrong's passing yards were hauled in by Brody Rock.

Armstrong was just one part of a punishing run game: Hopewell was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 265 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive games.
