Basketball Game Preview: Illinois Lutheran Chargers vs. Bowen Boilermakers

The Illinois Lutheran Chargers will head out on the road to face off against the Bowen Boilermakers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Illinois Lutheran is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They skirted past Excel Academy of South Shore 38-35. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Chargers.

Illinois Lutheran can attribute much of their success to Michael DeBoer, who posted 13 points and five boards. The dominant performance also gave DeBoer a new career-high in blocks (two). Dawveed Holland was another key player, putting up eight points and ten rebounds.

Bowen played against Chicago Collegiate on Monday and won via forfeit.

The victory (which was Bowen's ninth in a row) raised their record to 19-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.8 points over those games. As for Illinois Lutheran, their win bumped their record up to 5-17.
