Volleyball Recap: Skyline Falcons vs. Legacy Lightning
Skyline lost against Legacy back in August of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Skyline Falcons came up short against the Legacy Lightning, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Lightning: they've now lost five in a row.
Skyline was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Legacy work for it, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-15, 29-27.
Gabriela Medina-Valdez paced Skyline's offense, picking up 14 kills. Medina-Valdez got some help from
Lynsie Cortez and her 19 assists.
Mikaela Stromquist controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.
Leading Legacy to victory were Jaylen Javorek and Emma Gray. Javorek had 14 digs, while Gray had five digs and 16 assists. Gray has been hot , having posted 12 or more assists the last seven times she's played.
Skyline's loss dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Legacy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 15-8 record this season.
