Softball Recap: Bexley Comes Up Short

Bexley couldn't beat Westerville South on Monday even though they stacked eight runs on them in the third inning. The Lions came up short against the Wildcats, falling 21-10. That's two games in a row now that the Lions have lost by exactly 11 runs.

Davaney Prophet was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. Erica Golden also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Bexley and nudges their season record down to 6-13. As for Westerville South, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-14.

Coming up, Bexley will take on Whetstone at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Braves have averaged an impressive 12 runs per game this season. As for Westerville South, they will face off against Buckeye Valley at 5:06 p.m. on Tuesday. The Barons will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
