Tavares scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 48-47 to the Hope Academy Trojan Tigers. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojan Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Domiya Foreman was a one-woman wrecking crew for Hope Academy as she dropped a double-double on 28 points and 14 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Maliyah Riley, who posted four points and seven rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Tavares and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Hope Academy, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Tavares didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 44-38 loss against South Sumter on the 9th. As for Hope Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 37-34 defeat against South Lake on the 6th.
