Soccer Game Preview: Southside vs. Fort Payne

The Southside Panthers will square off against the Fort Payne Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Southside is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Cullman a 6-0 shutout. The victory was nothing new for Southside as they're now sitting on five straight.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Fort Payne faced off against Hartselle on Friday. The Wildcats blew past the Tigers 4-1. The win was familiar territory for Fort Payne, who have now won three matches in a row.

Fort Payne's victory bumped their record up to 14-6-1. As for Southside, their win bumped their record up to 17-2-1.

Southside beat Fort Payne by a goal when the teams last played on April 3rd, winning 3-2. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
