Baseball Recap: American Fork Extends Home Winning Streak to 12

American Fork waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Davis Darts 16-1. The game marked the Cavemen's most dominant win of the season so far.

Kenny Johnson made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2. He also brought in two RBI, marking his first of the season.

In other batting news, American Fork got a massive performance out of River Litke, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave Litke a new career-high. Another player making a difference was CJ Mascaro, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

American Fork always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .719. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

American Fork's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Davis, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.

Looking ahead, American Fork will be playing at home against Timpanogos at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Timpanogos' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so American Fork's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Davis, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bear River at 3:30 p.m. on April 7.
