Softball Recap: Wardlaw Academy Takes a Loss

If Wardlaw Academy was feeling good fresh off their 17-5 takedown of Laurens Academy last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Patriots came up short against the Augusta Christian Lions on Thursday, falling 19-3. The loss continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost five in a row.

Wardlaw Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gracie Kelley ( JR), who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI.

Wardlaw Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Augusta Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

Wardlaw Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Ridge Spring-Monetta at 5:30 p.m. on the 14th. As for Augusta Christian, they will challenge Ben Lippen at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
