Softball Game Preview: San Diego Cavers vs. Vista Panthers

The San Diego Cavers will head out on the road to take on the Vista Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. San Diego will be strutting in after a victory while Vista will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Tuesday, San Diego got the win against Monte Vista by a conclusive 16-3. The win continues a trend for the Cavers in their matchups with the Monarchs: they've now won four in a row.

San Diego got a massive performance out of Alyssa Miranda-Wallace, who scored three runs and stole five bases while going 3-for-3. Those five stolen bases gave Miranda-Wallace a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Andrea Murphy, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and two RBI.

San Diego lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Vista came up short against Tri-City Christian last Tuesday, falling 21-1.

San Diego's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Vista, they dropped their record down to 2-3 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
