Soccer Recap: Mayfield Victorious

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Mayfield had no problem doing just that on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Hoosic Valley Hawks 2-1. This was payback for Mayfield, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Riley Roth and Ava VanNostrand scored both of Mayfield's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 46 goals.

Mayfield's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Hoosic Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.

Mayfield wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next match, a 5-0 loss against Stillwater on the 27th. Hoosic Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
