Football Recap: Kent Denver Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Kent Denver couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They and The Classical Academy Titans were almost perfectly matched up on Saturday, but they suffered a 49-48 loss. The Sun Devils were up 35-21 in the third quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

When it comes to explaining why Kent Denver lost, don't look at Yianni Balafas. Despite the final result, he threw for 509 yards and four TDs while picking up 14.1 yards per attempt, and also punched in three scores on the ground. Balafas' passing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 326 passing yards.

Jackson Schipfer continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for The Classical Academy, rushing for 234 yards and three touchdowns. That's the most rushing touchdowns Schipfer has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Braden Godoy, who rushed for 46 yards and a pair of scores.

Kent Denver has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-3 record this season. As for The Classical Academy, their win bumped their record up to 11-0.

Kent Denver does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for The Classical Academy, they will square off against Wellington at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Titans 13.3, the Eagles 5) so any points scored will be well earned.
