Basketball Recap: Morristown Central Takes a Loss

Morristown Central and Harrisville squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Morristown Central had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Harrisville Pirates, falling 73-35. While losing is never fun, the Rockets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 876th, while the Pirates are ranked 300th).

Aiden Chartrand continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Harrisville, putting up 26 points. Chartrand continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Joe Shepherd, who posted 15 points.

Morristown Central dropped their record down to 1-4 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Harrisville, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-5.

Morristown Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Harrisville, they will challenge Colton-Pierrepont at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Harrisville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
