Softball Recap: York Dukes vs. Polk County Slammers
York won the last time they faced Polk County, and things went their way on Monday too. The York Dukes put the hurt on the Polk County Slammers with a sharp 11-1 win. Considering the Dukes have won 16 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Mira Garrett was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Ayanna Miller, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, York didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with ten strikeouts. That's the most strikeouts they've posted since back in September of 2023.
