Basketball Recap: Eustis Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Eustis had won five straight games and Eric Glover did his part to make it six on Friday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Mount Dora Christian Academy Bulldogs with a sharp 70-47 victory for which the team can thank Glover, who went 9-for-14 en route to 22 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Another player making a difference was Kevin Daniels, who posted nine points and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last six games he's played.

Despite the defeat, Mount Dora Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Drew Stratford earned 11 points and three steals. Joseph Avalos was another key player, putting up five points.

Eustis' record is now 9-1. As for Mount Dora Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.

Eustis will take on Lake Weir in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers' defense better be ready for this one: the Hurricanes have averaged an impressive 60.6 points per game this season. As for Mount Dora Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-61 win against Crescent City on the 13th.
