Preview: Peach County Trojans vs. Pike County Pirates
The Peach County Trojans will be playing at home against the Pike County Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pike County took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Peach County, who comes in off a win.
In what's become a running theme this season, Peach County gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Perry 70-38 at home. Winning may never get old, but Peach County sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Meanwhile, Pike County unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They were dealt a 71-41 loss at the hands of Mary Persons. Pike County has not had much luck with Mary Persons recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Pike County had strong showings from Maliyah Holmes, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, and Aubree Reese, who scored seven points along with four steals. Holmes continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kerrah Foster, who scored five points along with two steals.
The win got Peach County back to even at 5-5. As for Pike County, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3.
Everything came up roses for Peach County against Pike County when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 67-11 win. With Peach County ahead 50-5 at the half, the match was all but over already.
