Basketball Recap: Canute's Winning Streak Snapped at 12 Games

It was a good run, but Canute unfortunately witnessed the end of their 12-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 58-51 to the Hammon Warriors. The Trojans lost against the Warriors in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 66-33 score last time.

Canute's loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-3. As for Hammon, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 18-4.

Canute and Hammon should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings. Canute (ranked 24th) will meet Burns Flat-Dill City (ranked 361st) at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Canute will be looking to keep their ten-game home win streak alive. Meanwhile, Hammon will take on Duke at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday up 414 places (33 vs. 447). Canute's defense has only allowed 26.3 points per game this season, so Hammon's offense will have their work cut out for them.
