Soccer Game Preview: Wapello vs. Benton

The Wapello Indians will head out to take on the Benton Bobcats at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Wapello is looking for their season's first win.

Wapello is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They came up short against Cedar Valley Christian on Friday, falling 5-2.

Meanwhile, Benton kept a clean sheet against East Marshall on Thursday. They blew past the Mustangs 6-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Benton.

Benton's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-8-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those four matchups. As for Wapello, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.

Wapello might still be hurting after the 9-0 loss they got from Benton when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
