Flag Football Recap: Newton Takes a Loss

Newton fell victim to Peachtree Ridge and their airtight defense on Monday. They took a 14-0 bruising from the Lions. The shutout was out of character for the Rams seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in October.

Layla Khiev was the offensive standout of the matchup as she threw for 81 yards and two TDs.

Newton's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-5-1. As for Peachtree Ridge, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-3-1.

Looking ahead, Newton will face off against Salem at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Peachtree Ridge, they will take on Cherokee at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
