Baseball Recap: Bishop Mcnamara's Winning Streak Snapped at 11 Games

Bishop McNamara dropped their record down to 22-7 on Thursday, which also ended the team's 11-game streak of wins. They took a 15-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marian Catholic Spartans. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (ten), the Fightin' Irish still had to take the loss.

Taylor Fuerst made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Ricketts, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base.

As for Marian Catholic, they moved to 11-20 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

On Marian Catholic's side, Jonathan Trotter was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most RBI Trotter has posted since back in April. Bronx Debergh was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and one double.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop McNamara will take on St. Joseph-Ogden at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Spartans will roll in looking for their 26th straight win, something the Fightin' Irish surely won't give up without a fight. As for Marian Catholic, they will square off against Niles Notre Dame at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Dons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.22 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
