Football Recap: Winder-Barrow Takes a Loss

If Winder-Barrow was feeling good fresh off their 57-34 takedown of Forsyth Central last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldoggs fell 21-14 to the East Forsyth Broncos on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldoggs of the 34-30 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Despite the loss, Winder-Barrow still got an impressive performance from Demetrius Dowdy, who rushed for 133 yards and one score. Dowdy is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 101 every time he's taken the field this season. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Giovanni Tuggle, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed eight in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Tuggle, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Winder-Barrow now has a losing record of 1-2. As for East Forsyth, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Winder-Barrow has already played their next game, a 29-22 loss against Seckinger on the 5th. As for East Forsyth, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 26-20 defeat against Chestatee on the 5th.
