Recap: First Academy Eagles vs. St. John Lutheran Saints

The First Academy Eagles suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were beaten by St. John Lutheran 52-23. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss First Academy has suffered against St. John Lutheran since January 3, 2019.

Addison Schwartz was First Academy's leading scorer, having posted five points. Schwartz also led the team in rebounds with 12.

It was another big night for Gracie Sue Rice, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds for St. John Lutheran. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rice has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kayla joy Bowen, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten steals.

This is the second loss in a row for First Academy and nudges their season record down to 5-6. As for St. John Lutheran, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-4.

First Academy will square off against Legacy Charter at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Legacy Charter is ranked 524th, while First Academy is ranked 514th). As for St. John Lutheran, they will head out on the road to take on Saint Francis Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Saint Francis Catholic is on a three-game streak of home wins, St. John Lutheran a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
