Ursuline is  a perfect 4-0 against Girard since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Fighting Irish will face off against the Indians at 2:00  p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Ursuline is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup  on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Villa Angela-St. Joseph, sneaking past  3-2. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Fighting Irish.

 Anthony Triveri made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out eight batters over  six innings while giving up just two earned runs off   five  hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with two  runs and one  stolen base. He has become a key player for Ursuline: the team is undefeated when he posts  at  least  two  runs, but 8-11 otherwise.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  AJ Snyder, who  went 2-for-3 with two  RBI. That's the most  hits  he has posted since back in April.
 Ursuline  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Villa Angela-St. Joseph struck out eight times.
Girard came out on top against Perry  on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run sixth inning. The Indians narrowly escaped with a  win as the  team sidled past the Pirates  7-6. That's two games straight that the Indians have won by  just one  run.
 Camron Herrick spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned  (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks.
 On the hitting side,  Zach Ward was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with one  home run and one  double. That  home run was  his first of the season.  Will Hynes was another key player,  going 2-for-5 with two  stolen bases, one  run,  and one  RBI.
 Girard's victory bumped their record up to 15-12. As for Ursuline, their win bumped their record up to 16-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp  on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Ursuline has been swiping bases left and right this season,  having  averaged 3  stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Girard struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 3.9  stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
 Ursuline beat Girard 5-2  in their previous meeting  back in April of 2019. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Fighting Irish since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
