Softball Recap: Harmony Longhorns vs. East River Falcons
Harmony won the last time they faced East River, and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Harmony Longhorns sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the East River Falcons.
Emerson Aslan was incredible, going 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI, and a double. Isabella Correa-Ayala was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
On East River's side, Katherine Sanchez spent all seven innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up six Ks. Harmony now has a winning record of 5-4. As for East River, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.
Harmony will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Timber Creek at 7:00 p.m. Harmony is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season. As for East River, they will head out on the road to challenge University at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. East River is facing University at the right time seeing as University is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
