Basketball Game Preview: Shelby-Rising City Huskies vs. Schuyler Warriors

The Shelby-Rising City Huskies are taking a road trip to square off against the Schuyler Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Shelby-Rising City will be strutting in after a win while Schuyler will be coming in after a defeat.

Shelby-Rising City will head into Saturday's contest on the come-up: they were handed a 25-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Twin River 48-46. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Huskies have posted since December 29, 2023.

Dalton Pokorney had a dynamite game for Shelby-Rising City, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 14 boards. Noah Thelen was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Meanwhile, Schuyler was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 24th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost to Tekamah-Herman on the road by a 65-47 margin. One positive for the Warriors, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

The victory got Shelby-Rising City back to even at 1-1. As for Schuyler, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Shelby-Rising City beat Schuyler 58-49 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Shelby-Rising City since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
