It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Holland Christian ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 14-13 victory over the Spring Lake Lakers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-3 on Tuesday.

The win made it two in a row for Holland Christian and bumps their season record up to 8-9. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for Spring Lake, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Holland Christian and Spring Lake could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Maroons (ranked 300th) will meet Kalamazoo Christian (ranked 65th) at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Spring Lake will face off against Hamilton at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (264 vs. 69).
