Basketball Recap: GVCS Broadfording Skates Past Heritage Academy with Ease

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely GVCS Broadfording's strategy against Heritage Academy on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Lions blew the Eagles out of the water with a 67-32 final score. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

GVCS Broadfording had a senior duo take command as Mateusz Zgrajek dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten boards and Fernando Garcia went 6-for-9 on his way to 13 points and four steals. Garcia is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 29 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Nashon Mann, who posted four points and five steals.

The victory got GVCS Broadfording back to even at 1-1. As for Heritage Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, GVCS Broadfording is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Mercersburg Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions will need to watch out since the Storm have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Heritage Academy, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Mount Airy Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
