There's no place like home for Middleton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on the West Carroll War Eagles with a sharp 9-0 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Kamren Bumpus spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Middleton is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-12 otherwise.

At the plate, Middleton let Tony Street and Gavin Harmon run wild. Street went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs, while Harmon went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Middleton is undefeated when Harmon posts three or more RBI, but 5-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Wil Baker, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Middleton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Carroll only posted an OBP of .333.

Middleton's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-12. As for West Carroll, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-21-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Middleton will venture away from home to face off against Madison at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Carroll, they will head out to square off against Liberty Tech Magnet at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The War Eagles are facing the Crusaders at the right time seeing as the Crusaders are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
