Basketball Game Preview: Bertrand Vikings vs. Medicine Valley Raiders

The Bertrand Vikings will face off against the Medicine Valley Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bertrand is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.6 points per game this season.

Bertrand saw some tournament action on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 53-38 victory over Paxton.

Bertrand's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Marcus Hernandez, who went 6 of 14 en route to 18 points and seven boards. Hernandez's afternoon made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Thunder Nelson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, Medicine Valley didn't have too much trouble with Wauneta-Palisade on Thursday as they won 63-46.

Bertrand has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points per game. As for Medicine Valley, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.

Bertrand strolled past Medicine Valley in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 60-43. Will Bertrand repeat their success, or does Medicine Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
