Volleyball Recap: Cardinal Newman Comes Up Short

After flying high against Petaluma on Saturday, Cardinal Newman came back down to earth. The Cardinals lost 3-0 to the Tamalpais Red Tailed Hawks on Tuesday. The Cardinals haven't had much luck with the Red Tailed Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-17, 25-16.

Cardinal Newman's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Tamalpais, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.

Cardinal Newman and Tamalpais should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Cardinals will face off against Analy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (102 vs. 309). Meanwhile, Tamalpais (ranked 22nd) will meet Berkeley (ranked 314th) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
