Glenbard South entered their tilt with West Chicago on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Wildcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Raiders have posted since May 17, 2024.

Joe DeMeo was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. DeMeo was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of Glenbard South's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Gavin Pogorzelski was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. He has become a key player for Glenbard South: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Joe Cunningham, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI.

Glenbard South now has a winning record of 5-4. As for West Chicago, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Glenbard South will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
