Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Gilbert Christian couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Valley Christian Trojans on Saturday, falling 70-49. The Knights' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why Gilbert Christian lost, don't look at Jace Olson. Despite the final result, he went 7-for-17 to rack up 21 points and six rebounds. The match was Olson's fourth in a row with at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Abrahamson, who posted six points and five boards.

Gilbert Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 21-8. As for Valley Christian, the victory (which was their 18th in a row) raised their record to 26-3.
