Softball Recap: Saranac's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

If Saranac was feeling good fresh off their 16-1 takedown of Saranac Lake on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spartans lost 13-7 to the Ticonderoga Sentinels on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 4-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Saranac saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby Owen, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles. Elizabeth Recore was another, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Having lost for the first time this season, Saranac fell to 2-1. As for Ticonderoga, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 5-0.

Saranac wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 9-5 loss against Port Byron on the 13th. As for Ticonderoga, they have also already played their next game, a 32-0 win against Moriah on the 14th.
