Softball Game Preview: Greeley Quakers vs. Somers Tuskers

The Greeley Quakers will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against the Somers Tuskers at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Greeley is leaving town to face Somers after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Quakers fell 10-6 to Putnam Valley back in April.

Meanwhile, Somers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Croton-Harmon get on the board and left with a 5-0 win.

Katie Cole and Gianna Peanamanda did most of the damage at the plate: Cole went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Peanamanda went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. Julia Peanamanda was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs.

Greeley suffered a grim 18-3 defeat to Somers in their previous matchup back in May of 2019. Can the Quakers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
